VoiceAbility Camden are hosting our New Four Day Peer Mentor Training course.
The course will take place over 4 days and attendance on all days is required –
Monday 10th & Tuesday 11th February 2020
and
Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th February 2020
From 10am until 4:30pm, venue tbc
Our peer mentors use their own lived experiences of mental health to support someone else to achieve positive changes in their lives.
Course Content will include –
Ø Understanding the role of a peer mentor
Ø Communication skills
Ø Empowering skills
Ø Coaching skills
Ø Empathy
Ø Wellbeing and resilience
Ø Disclosure and how to use personal stories
Ø Personal safety and safeguarding
Ø Managing challenging behaviour
Ø Confidentiality
Ø Reflective practice
If you have lived experience of mental health, have a good empathetic listening ear and can spare around 4 hours a month to support others going through a difficult time we would love to hear from you.
