Anna Freud Centre - Parent Infant Project

Individual
This service is free
What do we offer?
The Parent Infant Project (PIP) offers a range of psychotherapeutic interventions for parents and their babies. The service helps families when not all is well in terms of how the mother, father or couple feel during pregnancy or after the baby is born.

The therapy puts the relationship between the parent and baby at its centre, acknowledging the need to understand and to make sense of the impact that the baby has on the parent and vice-versa. Read more about our help for children and families.
Who should use this service?
The service is for parents and babies under 12 months. Our approach is suitable for mothers and fathers who are finding being a parent hard to cope with, experiencing difficult feelings as a result of becoming a parent, worried about their relationship with their baby, or concerned about their baby’s development.

In addition we work with adoptive parents who would like support in developing their relationship with their new baby. We accept referrals from healthcare professionals, or you can self-refer.
