Mental health problems affect about 1 in 10 children and young people. They include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives.
The emotional wellbeing of children is just as important as their physical health. Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults.
Covid-19, a new form of coronavirus, is dominating the news. It’s a worrying time for everyone, and social distancing measures can feel daunting and isolating. Mental health charity Mind has launched a new online page for people who are feeling anxious about coronavirus, staying at home and following social distancing guidance, and who have to self-isolate and follow strict hygiene rules.
